The plugin consists of 3 components: audio filter, normalizer and voice-over side-chain. It can be apply to audio, video(with audio) and composition(with audio) layers.
1. Audio filter:The plugin uses 7 audio filters:
A low-pass filter (LPF) is a filter that passes signals with a frequency lower than a selected cutoff frequency and attenuates signals with frequencies higher than the cutoff frequency.
A high-pass filter (HPF) is a filter that passes signals with a frequency higher than a certain cutoff frequency and attenuates signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency.
A band-pass filter (BPF), is a filter that passes frequencies within a certain range and rejects (attenuates) frequencies outside that range.
A band-stop filter (Notch) or band-rejection filter is a filter that passes most frequencies unaltered, but attenuates those in a specific range to very low levels. Q is a narrow stopband.
A low-shelf filter amplifies or attenuates frequencies below the set frequency.
A high-shelf filter amplifies or attenuates frequencies above the set frequency.
A band-shelf filter amplifies or attenuates frequencies above and below the set frequency.
Q (or RES, bandwidth) determines the sharpness of the bandwidth, and the level or gain control which determines how much those frequencies are boosted or cut relative to frequencies much above or below the center frequency selected.
Gain level shows the level of gain or attenuation of the frequency band in dB.
Slope characterizes the smoothness of the cutoff frequencies mainly for cutoff filters. It shows how cool this cut will be.
Filter Wet – filtration power.
Only Filter Wet parameter can be automated!
2. Normalizer:Audio Layer gain is changed to bring the highest analog signal peak to a given level (0-100%)
3. VoiceOver Side-Chain filter:The plugin can work in 2 modes. If the “VoiceOver Side-Chain” flag is off, the plugin works as an audio filter(and(or) normalizer), if it is on, the plugin works as an side-chain audio filter decreases the volume and adds audio filters based on the side-chain voiceover signal.
When there is a signal on the VoiceOver audio layer, then the filter will be applied and (or) the volume will decrease.
VoiceOver Layer Start – Voice Over Layer or the first layer for the group (if there are several layers for voice).
VoiceOver Layer End – Last layer for the group (if there are several layers for voice).
Response time is the time between interruptions in the Voiceover track when the plugin does not stop working. (it is a pauses between words)
Attack time is the time between the moment the signal appears on the Voiceover track and the moment the plug-in begins to respond.
Release time is the time between the moment when the signal disappears on the Voiceover track and the moment when the plugin stops responding.
Sensitivity – Voiceover track signal sensitivity.
Volume Level – the maximum volume level of music when there is a signal from VoiceOver track.
Volume Level parameter can be automated.
